Board of Directors



The Foundation's volunteer Board of Directors is dedicated to raising funds for the development of programs related to awareness, public education, advocacy, support of those affected, and research into the prevention, detection, treatment and cure of prostate cancer.


Lee Watchorn
Chair, Board of Directors

Lee Watchorn retired as a senior officer of Sun Life Financial and is currently President of Watchorn Advisory Group, a firm he founded to  provide advice to senior management. He is a Director of a number of companies including Equitable Life of Canada and BF&M limited and he teaches a course at the
SculichSchool at YorkUniversity. He has long been active with volunteer organizations, having been President of St. John Ambulance in Ontario and a member of a number of other Boards in both health care and education.

Mr. Andrew Clarke
Vice Chair
Andrew Clarke is SVP & Deputy Chief Auditor of TD Bank Financial Group. Prior to this he was an audit partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP specializing in the financial services industry.  Mr. Clarke spent four years in the Canadian and then the Global chairman's office of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP.  He also sits as a trustee and former board member of LakefieldCollegeSchool and is a former committee member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario's practice inspection committee.

Dr. Robert Bristow MD, PhD, FRCPC
Chair, Networks & Partnerships
(SMAC)
Dr. Bristow is a clinician-scientist at the Princess Margaret Hospital-University Health Network and is an Assistant Professor in the Departments of Radiation Oncology and Medical Biophysics at the University of Toronto. He is an expert in the genetic factors of cancer treatment response and experimental radiotherapy, and national Co-Administrator of the Canadian Prostate Biology Network.

Jack Brill

Jack was a member of the Canadian Forces for 20 years. Upon retirement, he worked for Canada Post for 17 years. Following this, Jack entered politics at the municipal level and was a county councillor for 6 years. In 1998, after a prostate cancer diagnosis and successful treatment, Jack became involved with the Canadian Prostate Cancer Network, where he served as Director for 4 years. In 2003-2004, he served as the CPCN representative for the Canadian Prostate Cancer Initiative. Jack was the key organizer for the inaugural “Do it for Dad Fun Run” in Halifax, Nova Scotia and is currently the PR Coordinator for the Halifax Regional Metropolitan Prostate Cancer Support Group.

Mark Dailey

In 1968, Mark began his career as a radio and television news reporter in
Ohio. He was a radio anchor/crime reporter in Detroit for two years before coming to Toronto (CHUM) in 1974.  Mark was the founding news direxctor of Q107 Radio in Toronto in 1977. He joined CityPulse in 1979 where he served as an assignment editor and producer before taking the reigns of the Crime Beat for more than ten years. Mark has been the anchor of CityPulse Tonight for  20 years . Since coming to Toronto, Mark has received numerous awards, including a  public vote of thanks from the Governor General for community service, and the city of Toronto Civic Award of Merit for community service.  Mark has also served on other community boards of directors including Proaction Cops and Kids. A prostate cancer survivor, Mark has shared his story on television.

Dr. Yves Fradet, MD, FRCSC
Chair, Scientific and Medical Advisory Committee (SMAC)

Dr. Fradet was the founding President of the Canadian Urological Oncology Group that conducts clinical trials in the field of genitourinary cancers in Canada. He has been Chairman of the Department of Surgery at Laval University since 2000. He is Senior Vice President and Chief Scientific Officer of DiagnoCure Inc. Dr. Fradet serves as consultant for numerous national and international organizations and he is a frequent invited speaker around the world.

Thomas Godber

Tom Godber has over 22 years experience in the commercial real estate industry, specializing in investment sales, leasing, development and advisory services. He has worked on behalf of Fortune 500 companies and institutions in Canada, the USA and Bermuda. In addition, he has directed and initiated both redevelopment and development projects in Canada and abroad.

Michael J. Gough

Michael Gough is Chair of the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp. (OLG). A former Partner of Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP and the former President of UTDC Services Inc, Mr. Gough is a graduate of the University of Toronto, as well as the London School of Economics, where he completed his Masters of Law.

Stephen Graham

Vice Chair
Stephen Graham is the former Executive Vice President, Corporate Marketing and Convergence Officer for Rogers. Mr. Graham has an extensive background of senior management experience in high profile Canadian and U.S. companies including CIBC, AT&T and Proctor & Gamble. Mr. Graham holds a B.Comm with Honours from Queens University. He has also served on numerous boards including ICA, the ANA (U.S.) and Kids Help Phone where he was a founding director and past chairman.

Eileen Greene

Eileen is currently V.P. of HKMB International Insurance Brokers, with over 21 years of progressive growth in the insurance industry. Prior to joining HKMB, Eileen was an independent producer affiliated with KRG. She is Board Alumni of Ontario Chamber of Commerce. Eileen has also made her mark in the area of community giving. Her strong personal involvement in the not for-profit sector includes a position as Director of Stop the Violence, The Argos Foundation; and was a winner of the prestigious Lew Dunn Memorial Award in 2003. In this context, Eileen is an accomplished marathon runner, successfully completing events which include a race associated with the Women in Insurance Cancer Crusade. She also served on The Grey Cup Advisory Board for Grey Cup 2007 when it was hosted in Toronto.

Gordon I. Kirke, Q.C., LL.B., LL.M, D.JURIS (HON.),
Mr. Kirke has acted for several sports teams including the Toronto Blue Jays, the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Toronto Raptors, the Toronto Argonauts and the Indianapolis Colts. He has represented many of
Canada's top hockey players including Eric Lindros, Mike Modano and Rick Nash. He now focuses on the sports and entertainment industries, and is a Professor of Sports and Entertainment Law at both OsgoodeHallLawSchool, YorkUniversity, and the Faculty of Law, University of Toronto. Mr. Kirke is one of the most in-demand mediators in a diverse range of business and legal matters, In addition, Mr. Kirke was the first Canadian Director of the Sports Lawyers Association and is a past director of the Scarborough Distress Centre and serves on the boards of several other charities, including Stop The Violence, the Easter Seal Society and Children's Aid Foundation. He has been named by the Globe & Mail as one of the 25 most important persons in sports for three consecutive years.

Dr. Laurence Klotz MD, FRCSC
VP, Science & Medicine/Executive Member SMAC
 
Dr. Klotz is one of North America's most respected and widely published uro-oncologists. He is Chief of Urology at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, Research Director, Division of Surgical Oncology, Toronto-Sunnybrook Regional Cancer Centre and Professor of Surgery, University of Toronto.

Ian MacVicar
Treasurer & Secretary

Ian MacVicar is a founding partner of CastleHill Ventures, a venture capital management company focused on technology based businesses. His background includes extensive involvement in all aspects of corporate / investment / merchant banking and venture capital in Canada. He currently serves as Executive Chairman and CFO of one of Canada’s fastest growing technology companies. Mr. MacVicar has previously served on the boards and various board committees of several private and public companies, both in Canada and the United States; he is a Chartered Accountant, and holds the ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors.

Donald McInnes

Donald McInnes is the Founder , Vice Chair and CEO of Plutonic Power Corporation, a British Columbian based  Canadian leader in clean energy development.  His background is in funding natural resource development through Canadian capital markets .  He is a Governor of the Business Council of British Columbia and Vice Chairman of the Independent Power Producers of British Columbia.  He serves on a variety of community and business association boards and is a frequent public speaker and contributor to public policy debate to both government and the public at large.

Patrick B. Meneley
Patrick is a Vice Chair of TD Securities and Head of Investment Banking.  In this capacity, Patrick has overall responsibility for client relationship management, transaction origination and execution for investment banking services, corporate lending and mergers and acquisitions in
Canada and the U.S.  In addition, Patrick is a member of the Supervisory Committee of TD Securities.  He is also a member of the Young Presidents’ Organization, Upper Canada Chapter, and was recognized as one of Canada’s Top 40 Under 40 in 2002.  

Peter Myers
Peter Myers is Executive Managing Director and Head of Investment & Corporate Banking, Canada in Toronto, Ontario.  Prior to joining BMO Nesbitt Burns in 2002, Mr. Myers was Managing Director and Head of Equity Capital Markets at UBS Warburg, and Managing Director in the Equity Capital Markets Group at RBC Dominion Securities. Previously, he was with another major Canadian investment dealer where he assumed roles of increasing responsibility, culminating as Director and Head of Energy Investment Banking group.

Ted Nash
Ted Nash is the Head of Strategic Merchant Banking and member of the Management Committee Mergers and Acquisitions at CIBC World Markets, having most recently served as the firm’s Head of Mergers and Acquisitions., and immediately preceding his current appointment was His time at CIBC includes serving as a Senior Vice President of with CIBC Retail Markets, also serving as a member of the division’s its Management Team and of the bank's Senior Leadership Team. Mr. Nash entered the banking industry almost 25 years ago, since which most of his time has been spent advising companies on strategic and transactional matters.


Neil Parkinson
Mr. Parkinson is a partner in KPMG LLP based in
Toronto, where he is national director of the firm’s Insurance Industry Practice. He has [Parkinson, Neil R] 32 years of experience in providing public accounting and advisory services. Mr. Parkinson is a native of Cambridge, Ontario and graduated from the University of Waterloo with a Bachelor of Mathematics before earning his Chartered Accountant designation[Parkinson, Neil R] , and was named an FCA in 2009. He has served numerous local charities throughout his career.

George Przybylowski

Mr. Przybylowski has 35 years of experience in the planning and management of conferences, trade shows, special events and consumer shows. Prior to working at York Communications he spent 12 years with the Government of Canada in various policy and program roles and one year acting as Special Policy Advisor to the Minister of Housing & Municipal Affairs. Mr. Przybylowski is also an active volunteer having served as Director of Rotary Cheshire Homes, the Canadian Helen Keller Centre, the Don Valley Rotary Club and acting as a Board member for the Canadian Foundation for Physically Disabled Persons.

Pradeep Sood

Pradeep Sood is the founder of XactScribe Inc., and OutSource Process Inc. Mr. Sood is the Chair of the Ontario Chamber of Commerce and was a Director on the Board of Directors of the Toronto Board of Trade from 2007-2009. He is the past President of the Indo-Canada Chamber of Commerce and has also been a member of the Canadian Advisory Council of the Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute. Passionate about giving back to the community, Mr. Sood has organized numerous fundraising events to support community organizations including the Royal Ontario Museum, Harbourfront Centre, the Textile Museum of Canada and the Bridgepoint Health Foundation. He brings extensive international experience and diverse cultural knowledge to the Board, with over 30 years experience at both operations and management levels in Asia, Africa and North America.

Robert Watson

Robert Watson
assumed the role of SaskTel President and CEO in November 2004. Prior to joining SaskTel, Robert was the Vice-President of Business Development at GT Group Telecom/360 Networks. Robert is a graduate in Electrical Technologies from RyersonUniversity, and has attended the International Executive Development Program at the INSEAD Centre in Fountainbleau, France, as well as the Executive Management Program at AshridgeCollege in the United Kingdom. He also holds an ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors. A recipient of the Saskatchewan Centennial Medal, Robert currently serves as a board member for the Conference Board of Canada, Information Technology Association of Canada (ITAC).

Robert Zed
Following serving many hospitals in senior staff capacities, Mr. Zed founded his own company, Crothal Services Canada. He is currently chair of that company and chair and owner of the Zed Group, a diversified group of companies. Robert is an alumnus of Canada’s Top 40 Under 40 Award, and in 2005, was inducted into the Atlantic Business Magazine Top 50 CEOs Hall of Fame. Mr. Zed is a long-time volunteer who lives in Halifax.

J.G. (Geoff) Clarke
Mr. Clarke was the first Chair of the Board of Directors of the Prostate Cancer Research Foundation and has been instrumental in the establishment of the predecessor organizations, which became the present day Prostate Cancer Canada.

Donald J. Harrison
Mr. Harrison retired as an active Board member after seven years and has been instrumental in the establishment of the predecessor organizations, which became the present day Prostate Cancer Canada.

Ralph Noble
Mr. Noble was instrumental in the establishment of the predecessor organizations, which became the present day Prostate Cancer Canada.
