An important message to our supporters
Prostate Cancer Canada believes that transparency and accountability are essential to our success. With this in mind, we have recently joined Imagine Canada’s Ethical Code Program.
The Ethical Fundraising and Financial Accountability Code sets the standards for charitable organizations to manage and report their financial affairs responsibly. By adhering to these standards, we are complying with generally accepted practices for soliciting and managing donor dollars. This is important because you, our supporters, are entitled to transparency to ensure the greatest impact for your investment.
By adhering to the Ethical Fundraising & Financial Accountability Code we confirm that:
All donations are used to support our
mission
.
The privacy of donors will be respected. Any donor records that are maintained by Prostate Cancer Canada will be kept confidential.
Prostate Cancer Canada may share its fundraising list with other organizations; however, a donor may request to be excluded from the list.
Prostate Cancer Canada does not sell its donor lists.
Donors and prospective donors will be treated with respect. Every effort will be made to honour requests to: limit the frequency of solicitations; be excluded from solicitation by telephone or other technology; receive printed material concerning the charity.
Financial reports are prepared in a responsible manner, consistent with ethical obligations of stewardship, provincial and federal legal requirements and the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants.
We are accountable to you - our donors, stakeholders and the public.
Prostate Cancer Canada values our relationship with donors. Without the support of donors, we would not be able to achieve our goal of eliminating prostate cancer through awareness, support and research. Thank you for your commitment to us.
If you have any questions about our adherence to the Ethical Fundraising and Financial Accountability Code, please contact Donor Relations at 416.441.2131 Ext. 222 or download a copy of our annual report. You can also download a copy of the Ethical Code by going to
