1. When does the Safeway Father’s Day Walk/Run take place?
A: Father’s Day – Sunday, June 19th, 2011. Starting times vary by city, so check out the information on the My Run page.
2. Can I walk as well as run?
A: Absolutely!
3. How long is the Walk/Run?
A: The run varies by city check out your My Run page for details
4. What time should I arrive
A: We recommend that you check out your My Run page, aim to come out at least 1 hour prior to the run in order to check in.
5. When Can I pick up my T-shirt and Event kit
A: We recommend that you come out to early registration – details are on your My Run Page. If you can’t make it out to early registration we will have your t-shirts and kits available on run morning. Remember to come out at least 1 hour prior to the run to beat the rush.
6. Can I come out on run day if I haven’t registered?
A: You definitely can we can register you on the spot, we welcome participation to help us build awareness.
7. Can I ride my bike or inline skate?
A: Unfortunately, no. Due to safety concerns we can’t allow bikes, blades or boards
8. I have kids in strollers – can I bring them?
A: Yes, yes, yes! And dogs are fine as well provided they’re on a leash at all times.
9. I want to be involved in the event, but don’t want to run or walk, what can I do?

11. Why is there a participation fee?
There are two primary purposes for the run: to raise awareness about the most common cancer to affect Canadian men; and to raise funds to support our vision of a world where men no longer die of this disease. To help us raise as much money as possible and offset the cost of organizing 12 runs/walks across Canada, PCC charges a nominal fee of $35 to each event participant. But, that fee is waived for anyone who fundraises $150 or more.
12. What’s the best way to fundraise?
A: Online. After you register, you will be asked to create a personal fundraising page. Easy, highlights your personal fundraising goals. You can use it raise money, track out progress, thank your generous sponsors?
13. Is there a limit to the number of emails that I can send from within my fundraising center?
A: There is no limit to the number of emails that can be sent; we encourage you to go ahead and ask your network and beyond.
14. Can I enter cash donations using my credit card?
A: Yes! Just please be sure to enter the donor’s full name and email address and a tax receipt will be emailed to them. When you enter in the donations remember to scroll to the bottom of the screen and look for the pay button.
15. If I registered as an individual but now want to participate on an existing team or form my own team how can I go about doing this?
A: You can do this by going into your personal profile and selecting join a team or start a team.
16. Are there fundraising prizes or incentives?
A: You bet. Great prizes for meeting one of our 5 incentive levels. Click ‘will raise $150’ during registration and you won’t be charged a reg. fee.
17. Does Prostate Cancer Canada canvas door to door?
A: No. Prostate Cancer Canada doesn’t solicit door to door and due to safety issues we don’t encourage our door to door canvassing. However some individuals elect to canvas in their communities. It is important to note that if a canvasser comes to your door.
18. Do you hire a third party to raise funds for the run?
A: No. All funds raised for the event through participants, donors, sponsors; Event itself is organized by volunteer committees in all the markets and small paid staff.
19. Where can I find a donation form?
A: The donation forms are available on your personal pages. i. Login ii. Click on download a donation form on the left panel iii. Print and complete form
20. What do I do with my cash donations?
A: Enter in your cash donations online and pay for them through your credit card. Mail in your donations – remember to put all your donations together on a Cheque or Credit Card – for your safety don’t mail in cash: Safeway Father’s Day Walk/Run Prostate Cancer Canada 2 Lombard Street, 3rd Floor Toronto, ON M5C 1M1 Bring in your donations to pre-registration, details will be listed under your My Run page Bring in your completed forms and donations on run morning. It’s busy so remember to come in early.
21. Do I have to collect the donations from the people who have agreed to sponsor me?
A: Yes. You are responsible for collecting the donations. If you are registered online, it’s simple and secure for your supporters to donate on your behalf.
22. When will the Foundation send out tax receipts for the Safeway Father’s Day Walk/Run donations?
A: Donate online and you'll get an electronic tax receipt within 30 minutes. The Foundation will issue tax receipts for offline donations by September 31 - in plenty of time to claim the deduction on your income tax return.
23. May I make a donation if I’m not participating in the Safeway Father’s Day Walk/Run?

24. Is Fundraising online secure?
A: Online fundraising is the safest method of raising funds. It allows us to easily track your donation. Our online fundraising site is a premium fundraising site and is six sigma certified.
25. Why is the Card Verification Value Code (CVV) needed?
A: CARD VERIFICATION VALUE CODE (CVV)is an anti-fraud security feature to help verify that you are in possession of your credit card. For Visa/MasterCard, the three-digit CVV number is printed on the signature panel on the back of the card immediately after the card's account number. For American Express, the four-digit CVV number is printed on the front of the card above the card account number.
26. What is the maximum file size for a photo and how do I upload it?
A: The maximum file size for a photo is 300kb, remember to convert your photos to a jpeg or gif file. You can do this by going to save as and selecting save as type – jpeg or gif.
