Movember

Thank You!

Astounding support for the prostate cancer cause throughout the month of Movember

Prostate Cancer Canada (PCC) is proud to be Movember’s men’s health partner. The 2011 Movember campaign has been truly remarkable. We are overwhelmed at the number of Canadians who have supported the prostate cancer cause by growing and grooming a moustache and having conversations about the disease. The goals of Prostate Cancer Canada are twofold - to fund research that will uncover better diagnostic and treatment options and to provide comprehensive support services for those living with prostate cancer. The magnitude of funds raised from the 2011 campaign will allow us to realize these objectives.

We are currently conducting environmental scans in the areas of research and survivorship to determine needs and ensure that we allocate the Movember funds efficiently and appropriately. PCC also contributes to Movember’s international Global Action Plan (GAP) program, which brings leaders from around the world to fund programs that will advance the fight against prostate cancer.

It is exciting for us to now be at a place where we can start to properly support this field - and there is still much more to do. Research into the cause, prevention and treatment options for prostate cancer are still in the early stages – and programs to extend and enhance the lives of men who can live for decades with this disease need to be developed and implemented.

Please continue to visit our website in the upcoming months for funding opportunities and advancements in our research and support services initiatives.
