Format
All games will be played four-on-four (i.e. three players plus a goalie). Games will be 30 minutes long; not including a brief warm-up, a two-minute rest at halftime and the sticks-in-the-middle Scotiabank Stick•It overtime. All teams are guaranteed a minimum of three games.
Divisions - There are three divisions:
- Elite Division

- Family and Friends Division
Teams in all divisions must have between six and 11 players registered on the team, with a minimum of one female registered for Corporate Challenge and Friends and Family divisions.
Elite Division: All players must be 16 years of age or older. The playoff format will depend on the number of teams entered.
Corporate Challenge Division: Show your office spirit and stick handling skills! Register your team and invite your colleagues and clients to join. Players must be 18 years of age or older.
Note: There must be at least one female playing at all times.
Friends and Family: Grandparents, children and grandchildren, this is your chance to prove that hockey spans the generations. Registration is open to players of all ages.
Note: There must be at least one player 12 or younger and one player 35 or older registered on every team, and one female playing at all times.
Rules
- Have fun and respect your teammates, oponents, referees and volunteers
- Games in the Elite Division will be refereed; Corporate Challenge and Family and Friends divisions work on the honour system
- High-sticking, aggressive play and/or stick-work is not tolerated; fighting is prohibited and will result in an immediate ejection from the tournament
- All players must sign a waiver prior to participating in the tournament
- The game starts with a faceoff. After goals, the other team gives you centre. If one team shoots or deflects the ball out of play, the other team has the opportunity to put it back in. If you’re tired, you can change on the fly…because the only thing we’re blowing the whistle on is prostate cancer
- Games are played rain, snow or shine. Come to the event prepared for any kind of weather
- Slap shots are permitted in the Elite Division only
More detailed rules will be available here soon
Equipment
- All players must bring their own sticks, and goaltenders must bring their own equipment. (A limited supply of goaltender equipment, i.e. pads, masks and gloves, may be available for use on event day but is not guaranteed)
- Hockey gloves and other protective equipment (helmets, shin guards, jocks) are strongly recommended for all players
- Players 12 and under must wear helmets and eye protection (e.g. cage or protective sport glasses)
