On International Volunteer Day, we recognize the dedication of our 2,500 volunteers on the Prostate Cancer Canada team. Volunteers truly make a difference for families facing this disease!
As we wrap up the year, which is our 25
th anniversary, it’s worth remembering that the death rate from prostate cancer has dropped by half during our existence. Together, we have all contributed to that incredible success.
Dedicated volunteers allow us to stretch donor dollars to the fullest, helping us do so much more than we could on our own. Volunteers’ leadership, expertise and contributions at events, in the office, on research selection committees and in so many other ways helps us serve Canadians affected by prostate cancer better. Because of volunteers, we fund the best research, move knowledge into action, develop meaningful resources for families, create change in government policies and increase awareness.
Together, we are saving and improving more lives.
