Today, even though a number of treatments are available for advanced prostate cancer, many of these cancers eventually become resistant to treatment. Two Prostate Cancer Canada funded research teams are at the forefront of finding ways to treat advanced prostate cancers that do not respond or have stopped responding to current treatments.

Drew Green describes a memory from his youth that sticks in his mind: “My grandfather, who I was named after, passed away at the age of 60 after suffering from prostate cancer. I remember clearly being 14 and standing in front of his house with my Dad near the end of my Grampy’s life. My Dad looked at me right in the eyes and said: ‘Son, don’t worry, by the time I’m his age, they’re going to find a cure.’”
