Overview:

Genetic counsellor Justin Lorentz explains how a family history of prostate cancer may increase the risk of developing the disease. He also discusses the benefits of genetic testing for people facing prostate cancer and how genetic mutations could influence treatment decisions. 


Speaker:

Justin Lorentz is a certified genetic counsellor. He practices out of the Sunnybrook Odette Cancer Centre in Toronto where he also leads the Male Oncology Research and Education (MORE) Program; a registry for men with hereditary cancer. Justin is affiliated with the University of Toronto as an instructor. His current academic interests are in hereditary cancer with a focus on prostate cancer.
