Research indicates that low muscle mass is a powerful and independent predictor of poorer health outcomes in the general public, particularly for those affected by cancer. In this webinar, Dr. Carla Prado discusses what leads to muscle loss, how you can prevent muscle loss with proper nutrition and what unique variables need to be considered for prostate cancer patients. Dr. Prado breaks down some of the essential nutrients for the maintenance of strong bones and muscle mass by providing simple guidelines on healthy eating.

Carla PradoCarla Prado's Biography:

Dr. Carla Prado is a Registered Dietitian and an Assistant Professor at the University of Alberta, and a Campus Alberta Innovates Program (CAIP) Chair in Nutrition, Food and Health. She is also the Director of the Human Nutrition Research Unit. Dr. Prado is an expert in assessing nutritional status through the precise measurement of body composition and energy metabolism. The focus of her current research program is to develop targeted nutrition interventions for the prevention and treatment of sarcopenia in cancer.
