Understanding Your Pathology Report

Dr. Dominique Trudel highlights how pathologists interpret biopsy test results. This includes understanding a tumour grade, volume and stage. A pathologist will use this information to determine whether the cancer is likely to spread or be aggressive, which will influence treatment strategies.

Dr. Dominique Trudel is a genitourinary and molecular pathologist at the CHUM (Montréal). She heads a research laboratory who are working to improve how pathologists identify patients with aggressive prostate cancer. Dr. Trudel has received funding from Prostate Cancer Canada, the Institut du cancer de Montréal, Fonds de recherche du Québec – Santé (FRQS), Cancer Research Society, MEDTEQ, Institute for data valorization (IVADO) and the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR).
